insurance and classification between 2015 & 2017 challenger

Asked by Joem53 May 26, 2017 at 11:45 AM about the Dodge Challenger

Question type: General

Leased a 2015 Challenger V-6 according to vin # it was listed as standard performance car, some upgrades in the interior but nothing over the top.
Then I leased 2017 Challenger again v-6 same body type minor upgrades in interior some decals on outside to make it look sharp. But basically same car as 2015 - the VIN listed it as a sports car. My rates went through the roof.
WHY the difference?

Ask your insurance company. Give them all the information on your car, maybe they made a mistake. If that does not work, shop around for insurance.
