Was the last VW Scirocco before 2008 in 1992 and did it have airbags?

VW has been building the Scirocco since 1974 ...1992 was the last of the 2nd generation and discontinued, then to be re introduced in 2008

1988 was the last year in the U.S. for the Scirocco, after which it became the Corrado, which was sold in the U.S. through 1994.
