My 3-month old car suddenly stops moving

Asked by Mars28 Sep 29, 2015 at 04:46 AM about the Hyundai Santa Fe

Question type: General

I use Santafe 2016 model - it is just a 3-month old car. Worst experience
happened to me twice when my car suddenly stops moving whilst engine is
on, the AC and Radio are both open and functioning well but the car didn't
move. After 15 minutes of changing the gear (P,R,N,D), turning it off  and
on.. the car has returned to its normal functions. It was then one of the
most terrible days of my life as there is a big truck behind me, the good
thing is the driver is just driving slowly.  Then I drove to the Service Centre
and they told me that they need to update the computer software and
stuff....after a week I experienced the same scenario but for a minimal
duration- the car suddenly stops moving for 5 minutes whilst engine is on,.
ac and radio...I again sent the car to the service centre for check up..Is this
normal for this model?

No its not normal, and I would be on the service department like white on rice until that car is fixed. By what you explaining it is very dangerous to drive that car.

Agreed Joemom! Lol I would suggest the next time that happens make sure you buy a six pack of budlight to kill time and think about why Hyundai? I mean you'll have time to kill whilst in "limp mode". But seriously that dangerous (not the drinking and driving part) the limp mode if a tractor trail or pulls behind you! Turn in that crap and get a Chevy or Ford!
