my engine light is on. Codes turned up misfiring on the 6th cylinder,
transmission sensor and the egr valve.

I would work on EGR valve first, the others might've been affected by the way engine is running

lrodri911 makes a good point, however when you do have multiple engine trouble codes, you should write them down in the exact order that they show up in, and start with the repair for the first code first, clear the codes from memory, then drive the veh again and see if any of the other codes, or different codes come back or up and contionue with the repairs in the order shown. What year is your car and what are the codes in the order they showed up in?
