Question type: Maintenance & Repair

not only do I have a problem starting the car after I have driven it somewhere, the rpm guage reves way up and doesn't come down, have to be very careful with the brakes because the car wants to shoot forward because the rpm is so high

does the vehicle have an idle air control valve? or is it electronic throttle. you didnt list the year of the vehicle.
