1985 GMC k1500 4×4

I have a 1985 GMC k1500 Sierra Classic
4x4. It hasa 700r4 transmission in it that
won't shift into 3rd. Its automatic. I have put
2 transmissions in it in a year one junkyard
and one rebuilt. My question in can I put a
4L60e in it.

No because of the computer controls the shift points, the computer in the 85' is not designed for that trany.
