How do you get the front deck lid open?

Asked by ljw0001 Mar 24, 2012 at 03:54 PM about the Pontiac Fiero

Question type: General

Can't find any switch, wire, nothing.  Just bought this and looks like there are some loose wires here and there.  Where would the switch normally be located?

Should be on the left side near the drivers door hinge just below the steering wheel.

not really a switch but more of a pull handle, just like a regular car's hood release. Then you just pull it up from the edge closest to the windshield. Open reverse to normal, hinges at the front of the car.

It is not electric - there is a black plastic handle under the air vent by the drivers door. Once you get use to it it will be easy to find and use. It is a lever that pivots downward and back to release the front deck lid. There is also a small silver metal thing that is vitamin pill shaped and size with a steel cable on one end, that is your back-up release in-case the main one breaks. Enjoy your car, I love mine.

there's a backup? cool! didn't know about that. I'll have to look at that next time I have my car out.

The back up is in the same area as the main release.
