Why do my Brakes go to floor when engine running

Asked by Amy Jul 21, 2020 at 03:26 PM

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 1999 Ford F150 6 cylinder just got
new pads and work on the calipers
done. Bled the brakes and they built up
pressure but as soon as I started it up
the brakes failed and the pedal goes to
the floor. I can pump them, having to
manually raise the pedal up and get
some pressure to barely stop it.

with your motor off pump up the brakes till the pedal gets stiff, while holding your foot on the pedal you just pumped up start your truck if the pedal goes all the way to the floor good chance you have a bad power booster.
