Why won't my ignition key program?

I have a  2005 buick lacrosse im trying to program
a new key cause I lost my other one but my
problem is the security telltale light will not go off
after the indicated time 10 minutes any ideas?

You need one working key to program additional keys yourself to your vehicle. The ten minute or 30 minute relearn procedure that everyone talks about will not work in your situation! That is part of a very specific security system repair! Without a working key you need to be towed to your local GM Dealer for programming. Hope that helps! Jim
