04 Grand Marquis engine tensoniers.

My dad got a 04 Grand Marquis 4.6 engine and it
seems like one of the tensoniers just went out but i
will like to know how many that engine got and how
hard is to swap them.

It is a lot of work which is best left to pros.

I’m not doing the job because he is not in the states i just need to know how many tensioner are on the 4.6 I think is two of those. I just wanna double check.

If you are referring to the serpentine belt tensioner, there is only one. Order the whole assembly which comes with the pulley for $35. You might be confused with the idler pulley, that can be replaced as well for $15. It is just a pulley the belt rides on, it doesn't not help with tension.

No sir I’m talking about the timing chain not the serpentine belt. I just need to know if is two chains cause I use to own an explorer with the 4.0 engine and I think that one got one on the back towards the tranny just checking if that would be the case with the 4.6
