My 1998 Chevy vortex starting problems

First start of the day takes 5 to 10 bumps of
the starter before it acts like it wants to
start,then 4 or 5 more before it starts.the rest
of the day it starts great ie first try.my head
says fuel,I hear the fuel pump but it sounds
weak.where should I start??
