What cause my trunk to catch fire

Flames will cause your truck to burn....The catalytic convertors run very hot and any debris that gets on them can erupt in flames.

Many things can cause a vehicle fire. Yes, the catalytic converter is one of them. If the engine is misfiring the catalytic converter will overheat and under the right conditions can get hot enough to start a fire. A fuel leak, electrical short, or other fluid leaks can also start a fire. Hope that helps! Jim
