It means the vehicle has been deemed a total loss by the insurance company and sent for salvage. Though someone can repair the vehicle to current safety standards and retitle the vehicle with a salvage title and resell it. I would stay away from these types of vehicles , as you don't know the total extend of what was damaged or repaired. Of course if you do buy one, consider driving it into the ground. If you ever want to sell or trade it in, it will be worth close to nothing

Is there any redeemable aspect? Then again I always heard, and I if it sounds too good to be true....

Buying a car like that means you probably will be walking after a while. Running now will save a lot of walking later.
