Block heater how long to keep on

How long can I leave a block heater plugged in can it be
plugged in overnight or just a few hours before I start
driving

This would depend on how cold it is. Where are you that you need a block heater in June?

I actually always had it but never installed it until I found out I was moving with my boyfriend. And the cars are parked outside. Northern part of WI.
