How can I see maintenance records for a vehicle

If the seller has the records you can ask to see them. You can also buy a vehicle history report such as Carfax. That will show you where the vehicle was serviced. You can then call or visit the service facility and ask about the services they have done on the vehicle. They can't give you copies of the work orders due to privacy issues. You can't get the previous owner's name, address, phone number, etc. which are all shown on the repair order. Some dealers, like BMW for example, are very private about such things and may not give you any information at all. Hope that helps! Jim

You maybe in for a hassle trying to get them if there is no record in the glove box or in the owners manual. Carfax may have some records but only if where it was serviced reported to Carfax.
