Chrysler T&C key fob will not work with new battery

Asked by Michael Jul 11, 2023 at 08:53 PM

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2015 Chrysler Town & Country. I am getting a message that my key
battery is low. When I replace the battery (2032) the fob will not work. When I
put the old (dying) battery in it works, but I don't know for how long. I have tried
both Duracell and Energizer 2032's, same result.

Could be the fob itself, it has ran on low power for so long that when higher power is applied it can’t handle it. Try a locksmith before shelling out money on dealer prices for a new fob.

use a volt meter to make sure you new battery actually has voltage in it

UPDATE: I found a battery in another device, put that in and the fob worked and is not low. Maybe, it was overpowered by a new one. I tried about 4 different new ones, none worked, only the older one worked. Thanks all
