Question type: General

I see a car I am interested in on this site, it says it has been listed for 110 days
but when I talked to the salesman he said he has only had it for 2 weeks.
When confronted that it has been on this site for 110 days, he said he doesn't
know how that possible. Is he lying to me or could there me some sort of
error?

Get a vehicle history report, such as Carfax, to see how long the vehicle has been for sale. It will show up on the report. Jim

I have the Carfax for a few different cars and none of them say how long the car has been for sale for?

It's there. Look at the most recent entries on the report. You'll see entries like "reported at auction" then "vehicle sold". Once the vehicle is sold at auction It's usually sold to the Dealer who has it for sale now. Another thing to look for is "Dealer took title of the vehicle while it was in inventory". That's the date the Dealer puts the vehicle up for sale. So, if these dates are a while ago, the Dealer has had the vehicle for a long time. When I bought my '94 Fleetwood the most recent entry on the Carfax was ten months old. It said "Dealer took title of the vehicle while it was in inventory." I used that information as leverage to get the Dealer to drop the price! Jim
