Back when things were somewhat normal 90 days was considered long for a used vehicle, the dealership I worked at watched the number of days and if it was there too long, they wholesaled it to get rid of it. Now days I've seen the same vehicles on lots for over a year, even some brand new 2022 models on dealer's lots because they have too much invested in it and won't drop the price. After that long lot rot becomes a real issue.

When I bought my new Caprice in October of 1993 it had been on the lot for 4 months and that was a long time. Today it's not uncommon for an EV to sit on the lot for over a year because they're too expensive and nobody wants them. When a vehicle sits for too long things start happening to them. Batteries go dead, corrosion begins setting in, water condensation can become a problem in the fuel system, etc. Jim
