dont buy anything american or you will be putting money into it right away
the ford focus is a good cheap and reliable car and you should be able to find some for 5 grand or less. i have had mine for almost 5 years and have had no problems with it
two words: HONDA CIVIC but for real, if you want gas mileage, thats your best bet. you could probably get a 240sx or a fox-body mustang within that price range, but those cars can be money pits if the past owners were not careful. If you are willing to work on wrecked cars, you could probably a 350z for 5000 and fix it yourself.
def a DODGE NEON ITS CHEAP and you might be able to find a SRT-4 for that price it comes stock with a turbo its a great car thats what i would get in your position
i would get a 4cyl possibly a pulsar sss (not too sure if they are a cop magnet) but i know parts for them are at reasonable prices
Definetely a honda civic, you can get a hell of a decent Honda civic for 5,000. Not to mention if you stay away from the si model, insurance would be cheap. I recommend a late 90's ex model with a 5 speed, then you'll get up to 35+ mpg and good power options that every teen loves.
a 95-99 dodge neon you can find them for dirt cheap. cheap on parts as well i redid the whole rear brake system for $150 that was for everything for the rear brakes. word of warning tho find one with a five speed not and auto. the autos are lemons. i bought my 96 neon for $300 and i put roughly $1000 in parts. she never let me down tho. plus you won't ever find a 2 door 2nd gen neon ever!!!
i guess a neons a good first car. but i fkin hate them.90255445545554 of them on the road already. my 02 focus isnt too hard to work on, it rides smooth, and parts are becoming more readily available at junkyards, slowly but steadily
Don't Spend All Your Cash On The Car. Other Things Needed To Drive A Car Cost Money, Like Tags, Insurance, Gas, And So On. Just Try To Get As Low Miles As You Can, Good Shape, Stay Away From Small Used Car Lots, And Buy Pay Places. And As For The Ford Fucus, Hope You Dont Drop A Valve Seat, They Cost You A Piston, A Head, And If You Dont Clean The Inside Of The Engine And The EGR System Out Real Well, You Will Do It Again In Less Than One Hour.
VW and maybe the old Audi's are cheap and reliable .
i have a friend who works for audi and he said the pre 2002 or 03 audi are nothing but headaches.
Any GM car that has the EcoTec motor. Good examples would be the Chevrolet Cavalier (Made before 2000), Chevrolet Cobalt, Chevy Malibu (2004-2006), or (2008-2011). Most of these cars you can find relatively cheap at used car dealers.
