I want to buy a 2003, MZB E-500 with 75,000 miles. The asking price is $12,500. Is this a good price for a car that has 1 owner and is in great condition? And what kind of problems mechanically are these cars known for?

As long as it's never been in an accident, that is a good price. If there's any wiggle room left at all, its maybe a few hundred bucks. Im in sales myself and Ive learned that almost everything is negotiable so see if the dealer will absorb the DOC fee or if you're dealing with a private seller, make sure he fills the tank and maybe throws in something extra. As far is issues with the car...Mercedes is sort of known for having somewhat costly repairs and a failure rate that is higher than most of its japanese rivals. That said, the mechanical issues with a 2003 E500 should be fairly minimal. Edmunds.com sites problems with the MAF sensor (a $250 fix) and a valve cover gasket problem ($235 fix), but thats pretty much it.

I would like to know why my car has a "High Price" determination as advertised by your site while at the same time you advertise a dealer's car on your site with the exact trim and that car has a "Fair Price" determination in your ad? My price is $1000.00 lower than the other price for the same model and it has 4000 miles fewer? My car has lower mileage and there is no mention of my tow package in the advertising. 2 Answers
