Question type: Shopping & Pricing

1995 Mertz. SL 500, 84'000 miles. I call it "Fire engine red ext." Tan int.
leather in good shape, carpet good, wood finish around the shifter not great,
but still pretty good because it's just slightly scuffed. The wood on the driver
door has a small crack and I have a new replacement wood piece (in the
trunk) and it needs to be installed. The automatic transmission shifts great
delivering phenomenal forward power. The tires immediately grab the road
no slipping or burning out. I'm told the transmission need new rubber
mounts. The clear coat paint is peeling. Hydraulics leak on the drop down
top. It has a hard top. The clear coat is peeling. The 5.0 liter engine is in
excellent shape and it really likes to run!  It runs with a notable deep throat
type rumble as soon as you start it.  It's light, fast,  and corners with ease. It
has the ability to out manuver a whole lot of compairable vehicles (like 5.0
Mustangs or Hemi Chargers).  No rust. Garage kept.

Check Edmunds or the Blue Book. You are going to take a serious hit for the bad paint and mechanical problems so you might want to do something about the hydraulic leaks and transmission mounts. A proper repaint could easily run 5 to 10 grand.
