03 grand marquis with 98 grand marquis engine under the hood

I have a 03 grand marquis with a 98
engine on the body.. I was wondering
what could be the problem with my
car doing this. Ok I start it up for a few
seconds my battery light comes on
and after my car has been running for
a while it shuts off.. I had someone to
take a look and tell me what it could
be and he says I need a fuse relay box
that goes under the hood... so could
anyone tell me what it could be
causing this problem?
