2001 Dodge ram 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have 2001 Dodge ram 1500 and issues
started when I was on my way to work and it
lost all power. Then when I was coming to a
stop or coasting it would die. Pulling the
battery cable for about 30 secs then it
would start but has got progressively worse
and now won't even start. Will turn over but
won't fire. Any help is much appreciated bc
my daily driver and I try my hardest but
being a woman and using YouTube isn't
really doing it

you'll have to test for spark and fuel pressure , do you hear the faint sound of the fuel pump prime the system when you hit the key ? if not then you see if the fuel pump has power and ground at the disconnect , you could scan for codes at auto zoo but it won't start and i doubt you have a scanner , some tools are needed to trouble shoot the problem , can you pour some gas down the throttle to see if it'll fire ?

The fuel pump won't kick on. I messed with a wire under truck about where my 4x4 shifter is and it kicked on so I started but died after about 1 min
