No actually it's only collected if transaction goes thru them . What I was asking if sold it elsewhere while it was listed on there site, do they still collect a fee. And that answer is NO. After I received clarification directly from cargurus administration. Who actually took the time to explain in detail how the process works, and there a little more to it than what you posted,

The question you post is what gets answered, not the one you are thinking about. AutoPay collects the fee if you go through them, not CG's.
