When setting up a search why can't I set the low price below $3K?

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

It seems like the price and miles slider have a default bottom that way higher
than zero.  When setting up a search I want to search for cars with a price of
$2K to $4K but the slider only will let me set the bottom range as low as $3K.
Why is that?  Same thing for the mileage as well.

The lowest point on the slider is set at the cheapest car for sale in your search area.
