how do you turn the alarm off on a citroen berlingo

Check your door switches first, it may be that a switch is faulty/broken/missing causing the alarm to go off.

Or get a cheap $10 elm327 scan tool to detect where the problem lies and reset it. LOL. Here is the one which I found the cheapest http://www.aobd2shop.com/wholesale/new-arrival-code-reader-diagnostic-tool-super-mini-elm-327.html

Got a 1998 Berlingo Multispace Diesel that the alarm got enabled (probably after I left the headlights on in error and flattened battery) and would sound off for thirty seconds every time the tailgate or doors were opened. Key fob is not lost, just can't find it after a house move, if that is the original factory fob. Instructions in owners manual does not match vehicle layout, ie no button on dash to press to disable alarm. However, did find in documentation for a 2004? model that if the alarm is triggered ten times in succession without seeing the fob, it disables itself. and it has.
