how do you turn the alarm off on a citroen berlingo

i ve just got  a 51 plate berlingo every time you lock the car with the remote or the key the alarm goes off,is there any way of reseting or turning the thing off.

Check your door switches first, it may be that a switch is faulty/broken/missing causing the alarm to go off.

Got a 1998 Berlingo Multispace Diesel that the alarm got enabled (probably after I left the headlights on in error and flattened battery) and would sound off for thirty seconds every time the tailgate or doors were opened. Key fob is not lost, just can't find it after a house move, if that is the original factory fob. Instructions in owners manual does not match vehicle layout, ie no button on dash to press to disable alarm. However, did find in documentation for a 2004? model that if the alarm is triggered ten times in succession without seeing the fob, it disables itself. and it has.
