i am in the market to but a nissan silvia or 240SX any suggestions?

It really depends on what you want to get out of it! if you just want an ordinary stock one then it really doesn't matter. basically just look for what you would in any other car, but if you want to do any work to it body wise or engine work i would recommend buying one that already has it done. it is a much cheaper route to go and there isn't the hassles of making everything work properly. in between the s13 and s14 chassis the largest differences are in the body styling so that way it is mostly personal preference however the s14 is newer and it's easier to find one with less milage and in better condition. personally i prefer the s14 and have two of them. I think they look much more refined. You could get the overseen S12 for a very little price. like 1000 -2500 usd depending on which kind. You could import from japan or australia if you could find any with a CA18DET or FJ20ET which is the old skyline r30-r31 engine and it would still cost you less than most newer silvias or 240sx'. Then you would be crazy oldschool and have loads of power at the wheels.

i have a buddy that just completly built a s13 240 for under 10. full sr swap, suspension, exaust, wheels, brakes, diff, and he even went as far as getting the glued seams in the engine bay welded, and it cost him less then 10 000$ including the car. seems like a good idea.
