does a 2003 chevy venture require a special key when replacing lost keys?

lost 1 set of keys to van. had new keys made but van won't start with them. old
key doesn't look like a chip type key or is it??

Where did you get the replacement keys? They may not be the correct type blank, or weren't properly programmed into vehicle. Any new key will have to programmed into the anti theft system.
