See this, 2012 GMC Acadia top speed: https://youtu.be/XCd_jGRCllM It's limited to around 108 mph. But, it's pretty fast getting there. By the way, where can you go 100 mph?... If you're caught, they'll take away your driver's license or slap you with an exhibition of speed ticket. This is no ordinary citation, it could cost you over $3,000! Now, tell me is that really worth it? But, your vehicle does have enormous power even though it's a thirsty, 600 horsepower, really? Who needs that much power, unless you're pulling out tree stumps.
Calif: 100mph or 40 mph over posted is reckless driving A minimum $1,000 fine A 30-day license suspension And 2 points going on your DMV driver’s license record. 4 points and your license gets suspended for 'negligent driver' Or "scofflaw" very serious and if your insurance doesn't cancel you your permiums will skyrocket
And if you pass a school bus with red lights flashing, or do 55 in a school zone, same. I know..not what you asked. Just what it is
Yes, maybe we're just getting mature, I'm going to call it smarter! Back in high school days, guys used to brag about the powerful cars and V8 engines, we all did it. Hey, I remember people saying things like, sorry man you've only got a 350, while I've got a small block 400 or 455. And, pity the poor soul who had a Six cylinder or Four! People used to make fun of them saying that there must be a hamster powering their car. Looking back on this time just tells you how juvenile all of that really was. We were lucky just to have a car in high school! Well, a lot of time has passed and now its clear that economy is just as important as performance. There's nothing wrong with having a car with good pickup and all of us appreciate that, but, 100 mph. That's ridiculous! My current car has a rated top speed according the stats of 123 mph. SO WHAT? I'll never see that or even try. Why? It's too dangerous and what's the point? Let me tell you this, if you had a blow out or hit an object at any speed past 100 you would be in serious jeopardy of losing control of your car and could wind up being a paraplegic, do you really want to risk that? So, enjoy your car or vehicle, it's top end speed realistically safe to go is around 85 mph. Once your north of that, you had better be on the open road of a deserted highway , have speed rated tires and your car better be in top notch mechanical condition otherwise you're just looking for trouble.
