Power train warranty unfortunately was used

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

After having my 2016 Hyundai
Santa Fe for 10 months I was
forced to use the 100k mile
power train warranty due to the
engine locking up.

I refused to get any part of the
locked engine fixed and had it
totally replaced core and
everything with a new engine.

This in my thoughts only add
value or at least retain value
since the new engine doesn't
have more than 10k miles as
opposed to the odometer
reading greater than 50k miles.

What is an accurate value since
no accidents or anything but the
mileage is affecting the current
value?

You could charge a small premium over the normal price but you won't get all that much more as the rest of the car has higher miles than the engine.

When I see a car that has had the engine replaced really early I wonder what else is about ready to go on the car. Maybe it was a lemon or maybe the owner did not take care of it. Not saying this is your fault at all but these things occur to potential buyers.

I agree with you. That's why I had nothing fixed and went with fully replaced with Hyundai and Hyundai doing the service too.

I need a vehicle that is not as big. I am disabled and thought the 3rd row would be great, but 99% of the time it's never used other than dragging another half of a car eating through the gas.
