Do I need a Master cylinder?

I'm having to pump brakes pedal to
stop on my 1990 ford festiva, fluid
is fine, what do I need to replace?

low brake fluid, air in the system, worn brake pads, a bad master cylinder. Don't guess, have a mechanic look it over if you must drive it. your vehicle is not safe to drive.

If you decide to replace the master cylinder yourself do yourself a big favor and bench bleed it before installation. Then bleed the whole system.
