how do you tell the year or read the numbers on a 460 ford engine???

best way is to look up car vin- if you cant its usually has stamped numers (engraved) somewhere under all the grime- call your dealer they will let you know by the numbers

there is a casting # on the block, heads, intake manifold etc. You might see D1VE...D1 means 1971....you might see D0ve...this means 1970. you might see C8 or C9...these mean 1968 and 1969. C=60s D=70s E=80s . If you ever see DOOE-R on the cylinder heads...let me know...I might buy em from you...thats what I run.
