Way out fuel consumption

Question type: General

Good afternoon, I have a 1.6 2011 Bantam bakkie.
I've recently bought the bakkie, so i have noticed
when i go on long distance travel ( like 200km )
and i drive an average speed of 120km/h, that the
vehichle is using huge amounts of fuel..... Ive used
almost R400 of petrol on 200km....

Take note.... The bakkie does not have a canopie
on, neither a cover on the back....

Can this be the cause, and what can else possibly
be the cause ??

You should try a tank of gas with the top up to see the difference. One other quick thing to check would be the air filter for the engine. These can make a vehicle suck gas when dirty.
