It is not likely that it would fit but if it did the conversion done right could cost you a hundred grand.

You would also be ruining the value while you were ruining the car.

I have everything but the engine and I want something more powerful than the original engine.

I highly recommend a correct XK 4.2 engine. One from an early carburetor equipped XJ6 will bolt in.

Well actually I don't own one yet I'm just seriously considering buying one and I just want to know every option before I do like if I buy one without an engine which engine I can buy to replace it. I just fell in love with "The most beautiful car ever made."

I have owned several vintage Jags and I can tell you that the Jag 6 is one sweet engine. If you have deep pockets you can get an honest 300hp and in a light car like that you will be thrilled.

If you take a $100,000 1969 XKE and take out the original engine and butcher it to install a v8 you will lose at least half of your original investment. Probably a lot more than that - just so you know.

I'm just an 18 year old so im looking to only spend 40000 which I know people with the E- type with no engine willing to sell it for 20,000 and I have an engine lined up for 5,000 and room for labor and other parts.

Educate yourself on repairing and restoring old Jags before buying one. They are much more expensive to work on than you think but good luck.
