Private sale

Question type: General

I am looking to purchase a vehicle off Cargurus
sight unseen. I want to use my own financing and
have the vehicle shipped to my town. Has anyone
had experience with this? Was it a smooth
transaction? Are you still covered by buyer
protection buying sight unseen?

I would use the Contact Us link, this is public area. But I can say, Cargurus is a listing site and doesn't actually sell vehicles. Once you find a vehicle, you can see if it is a dealer or private party sale and message them for information. Once you purchase the vehicle. you can arrange shipping with an auto carrier of your choice to have it shipped to you at your cost. I don't recommend buying a vehicle sight unseen. At the very least, have a third party auto inspection company look it over for you if you want to go this route. Lemonsquad is one of those companies.

Even if someone had a good experience buying a car sight unseen it does not mean you will. Odds are you will be disappointed.

The buyer protection only has to do with the financial transaction and title. The car could arrive as a box of parts or a total wreck and it would not be covered. Read the terms and conditions!!!!!! https://cargurus.helpscoutdocs.com/article/197-purchase-protection- program-terms-conditions
