How do you tell the differences between the models of BMWs?

ok here's a crash course. bwm have series. 3-5-7-8. the number you see after the first one is the size of the engine. example 325= serie 3 with 2.5 litre engine. and it's the same with all the rest hope it helps

except in some cases...like the 1998 bmw 323is perhaps..it has a 2.5 liter engine. and you forgot about the 1,6,X, and Z haha

Well Jonathan,other than the kidney grill and few lines running over the body,there are hardly any similarities between its models....X3 and X5 or the new 5 series and 7 series may be a bit confusing but a trained eye can tell between the two quite easily.....but yeah i feel that bmw should stop generalising a pattern for its cars(the grill,interiors,etc.) cos that deprives each car of being exclusive(but i don't see how that can be done....i love bmw cars even this way)
