4.0L MAZDA B4000-CODE 214-WHAT/WHERE IS THE CYLINDER IDNTIFICATION SENSOR/CIRCUIT LOCATED
5 Answers
Was that a Hard Fault, Running or Memory code? The code is for an open or short to the Cam Shaft Position Sensor. Cylinder ID is it's proper name. It's on the top and back of the motor - if your engine had a distributor, that's where it would be. The code indicates that there's and open or shorted circuit. Check to see if it's plugged in. There should be 2 screws on top of the sensor - remove them to replace the sensor.
TRACY--THANK YOU MUCH FOR THE ANSWER. THAT WAS A RUNNING CODE. I FOUND A" WHOLE BUNCH" OF DIFFERENT ANSWERS FOR THIS ONE. 2 SOLUTIONS WERE FOUND, 1.REPLACING THE SENSOR (CAP)- ABOUT $50.00 OR THE ENTIRE PART-$400. IS THERE A "BENCH" TEST THAT I CAN RUN?---THANKS AGAIN TRACY---LES KASZA
