Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hey all. We have a Mercedes Benz Viano Marco
Polo, 2006. Thanks to covid the battery is dead as
we weren't able to get to where we keep it parked.
We have a portable starter, but the battery is bolted
under the seat. After some googling, I found a
video explaining how to jumo start then video by
accessing a positive plug in the fuse box under the
hood. I'm sure I've found the same in the Viano, but
wanted to confirm. It doesn't have a positive
simbol on it. Am I right that its the red rubber
capped metal tube on the right of the photo?

Do you have the owners manual? There may be remote terminals for jump starting.

Hi, thanks for your answer. Unfortunately I can't find the manual right now (am in a bit of a pinch), and it's why I'm asking if in the photo, the red rubber covered part on the right is the remote terminal. I'm 99% sure it is but nervous about my 1% doubt haha.

there could be specific battery terminals in the engine bay. Look for a plastic cover with a cross or plus on it. There should be large diameter wires going to it as well.

Unfortunately no positive or plus sign, just that red capped part on the right of the photo
