There is alot of things that could cause this The EGR,Fuel filter, fuel pump.Air filter, If it has injection,The injectors maybe starting to plug
I had the exact same thing happen for about two tanks of gas after filling her up with some bad gas. Empty the tank and fill her up again clean ly, drop in some fuel injector cleaner and let it burn through and see if this fixes it.
Well, I have already replaced the feul pump three times. only because the problem i was having was caused by the feul pressure reglulator, and not the pump itself. which the pressure regulator is attached to the pump. (PITA)!! A faulty egr code came up on the engine diagnostic, as well as o2 sensors. I figured I would change the egr first since it was easier to get to, and alot cheaper than changing three 02 sensors. The car is feul injected. so, I will try a couiple tanks with injector cleaner in it. The next step is new plugs and wires. If the problem still isnt fixed, I will be at a standstill.
Mike, the egr valve will normally not cause hesitation or faltering on acceleration-it can hang open on an older car and that will cause idle problems. Recommend you check the carb out for loose mounting bolts or possibly the accelerator pump in the carb my be worn and that will cause problems with off idle response
Well mike now that I've read further down and discovered your car is fuel injected, we can reset-let me ask what year and engine does your t/a have?
