Doesn't seem like a good idea to me, but you need to arrange purchase and transport with seller of Porsche.

Get a dealer inspection, cost is around $350 but can potentially save you thousands in repairs. They go through every single element, so you can trust them. Also check carfax and auto check to see if everything is clean. Finally get all service records from the owner, ask if anything has been replaced, what was done , how the car has been maintained.

many dealers won't do a PPI now for liability reasons. some will do a 'safety inspection', which is similar. You may need to use an independent Porsche specialist in the sellers city. shipping is easily found on google

My local dealer in Chicago does it, it's better to go to a dealer because of the liability. Other small shops might not be as thorough, unless you know someone or he's highly recommended. I know a guy from Chicago who bought his Porsche in California. First thing he did was change the ims, change the oil at a local indy shop. 400 miles later his engine broke. It was an intermix, which the shop didn't catch. Cylinder head was cracked. He ended up suing the shop. There are different shops out there, make sure you can trust them and they know what they're doing.

Don't ever trust a dealer to that type of inspection. Send someone that's knowledgeable about Porsche's and have them take it to an independent Porsche shop nearby. Then have it put on on a lift and then inspected. This will cost you, but it's better than buying blind. Shops that do race work are your best bet, they know what to look for.
