what does the term hydrogen fuel cell mean

I just saw this thing for a real test on the latest episode of top gear and i got interested... According to how things work the hydrogen fuel cell is the mechanical device that mixes hydrogen with oxygen to produce water, electrical energy and a certain ammount of heat... however i would wager that it is more than likely derived from the term fuel cell which is a elegant way of saying gas tank... so in short the hydrogen fuel cell probabally is a referance to the high pressure holding tank for hydrogen gas... hope this answers what your looking for...
