Heat gates and petrol gates.

I have a 1300 toyota tazz. My heat gates and
petrol gates goes sky high when I have,just started
the car. Want to know why it can happen. Whats
the reason

Do the gauges go high and then return to normal immediately when you start the car? My Fords do that and it is normal.
