usually in cases like this it is something so simple that you will kick yourself when you find out what is wrong. That being said I don't really know what that problem could be. Make sure all the wires and cables and connected. Is it cranking?

Based on what you have recently done you should be getting fuel into the engine, assuming it is cranking, then you assuredly are not getting spark for the ignition of the fuel. In this case, repeated cranking and pumping the accelerator pedal will provide you with a smell of gasoline. This, 99% of the time proves that you are not getting the spark that you need for ignition. So, check out all wiring. A test light helps you do that.
