how many 1989 camaro convertibles built
7 Answers
yes and no, there were 110,739 total built. Of that there were 86,732 RS cars built and of that there were 3,245 RS convertibles made. The total number of 5 speed cars there were 22,882 made. These numbers are from B Eichkorn customer Assistance Dept of GM. My Camaro is a 5 speed RS convertible. It was one of the last made due to the fact that it arrived with 1990 wheels on it. We received a written apology due to the fact that GM ran out of 1989 alloy wheels and thus installed 1990 wheels on the car.
I also forgot to mention that my Camaro has the number 16 on the radiator tag and a build date of 6/89 on the door sticker and a July install of the convertible top. The car is red with black interior and has 38,700 miles on it currently. Percentage wise there were about 1,200 convertible RS 5 speed cars made. Hope any of this helps.
dont know how many but gm didnt make them, they were sent somwhere from gm to have them made i belive
As already mentioned above... would be pointless for me to say the same thing again
1990 RS Camaro convertible 729 built pretty damn rare compared to 1200 or 3,245 . I'm just trying to stick up for the 90 cause all I hear or see or find is 69 - 89 and 91-02 !
Well I happen to be selling an even rarer Camaro, a 1989 Iroc Z28 Convertible as a 2016 Xmas special. Runs & drives amazing, looks great too. Just hit me up at eight one five, two one nine, three eight four one. I believe there are less than 500 1989 Chevy Camaro Iroc Z28 Convertibles left on the road when there were only 1259 built compared to 3,245 RS convertibles made. Like I said I just happen to be selling mine as of December 2016.
