Just bought an 85 IROC with 250,000 miles. Whats it worth?

Question type: Shopping & Pricing
Just bought a 85 IROC, paid 1,850. It has 250,000 miles, and 0 problems, how'd I do? T-Top, zero body damage, original paint still looks great, 305 non-TPI. Judging by how it runs a new engine won't be needed until after at least another 50,000 miles. What's a good price for this car?

You sound optemistic...depending on how close to NEW the thing is (free play in the steering) rotten body mounts, etc, $3000....and that's After the inspection/engine performance on the dynamometer to check the efficiency of the engine through revs and retreats~ if it's motor is rotten, I think that you should be able to get 1000 scrap value....the mileage is killin' it, man~ okay, I judge by just two factors.....1.) the way the exhaust smells 2.) the way the interior smells.....this is pretty much all you need to know...plus a carfax would help~

I misunderstood the question...you made a good bargain...cash on the barrelhead~...IF the body is straight. the tires are NEW....the battery is NEW and someone saw fit to put a new cabin filter in that~ https://www.google.com/#q=85+IROC+cabin+filter&tbm=shop

Tires are good, battery is new, will check on the cabin filter. Thanks Judge.
You did good. I own an 85 z28 305 TPI with t-tops 155000 miles that I am currently restoring. All I have left to do is paint. Sounds like yours is probably in better shape than mine. I have turned down an $8000 offer for my car. Is my car worth that probably not but with older cars it's not really what they are worth as a car but more about what its worth to you. And for now I don't really know just how much money it would take for someone to get this one from me. (Oh by the way it's not for sale). But you can never tell just how much someone else might be willing to pay for a piece of history. IMO anyways.
