Post some pics. According to just how good the condition you may be surprised how much it is worth.

Which engine does it have? Tpi? Auto or manual? Disk or drum rear brakes?

http://www.hagerty.com/valuationtools/hvt/vehiclesearch/Report? vc=463983 -- this is for the tpi version.

Hmm. In 1985 all the 305 TPI (LB9) IROCS were automatics. The four barrel (LG4 - L69) versions could get 5 speed manual. Does it have rear disks brakes? Did someone change out the trans?

Is this what your engine look like? This is the LB9 305 TPI of 1985.

Im sorry, it is an automatic. I am trying to work and answer at the same time. It looks like this engine.

The transmission is all original. Everything is all original except for the tires.

Oh ok. That's more like it. That's the (LB9). Best engine of that year. If it has disk rear brakes it will also be posi trac rear end. I would check your axle code also. Because there were only 205 IROCS that year that were equipped with the performance axle ratio ( G92 ) if yours is one of those the price goes up even more.

I am definitley interested in selling the car. I love the car, but just had a kid and I don't have the garage space or time for it like I did. If you are interested I am definitley willing to sell it.

Oh I would like to have it but after doing some digging there is no way I could afford what it's probably worth. Your car is probably worth anywhere from $10000 to $19000. I have to advice you to not get In to big a hurry to get rid of it. Do you homework about your cars exact specs and options. The more you know about its options the more the price will go up. Do not let anyone low ball you. These cars are on a come back I feel and would hate for some one to just steal this beautiful ride from you. Almost traded my 1985 z28 for a 1980 vet a couple weeks ago but I backed out. Just can't picture my car in someone else's garage. And mine no where near as nice as yours.

Do you have any suggestions on who would be interested in this car that I could talk to or email or get in touch with? I would like to move this car.

Rear axle ID number is located on right axle tube, adjacent to the carrier.

http://kliers.net/camaro/specs.htm -- check this out for the cam info we talked about. Your tach should be one of the ones that is yellow at 5000 rpm and red at 5500. This is the hotter of the two cams.

I had a list of codes I found that wrote down. These codes were on the inside of driver door. I have written down the code GU6. Does this have something to do with the axle?

1 people found this helpful.
201,065

http://www.rpocodes.com/GM-RPO-codes/gmrpocodesGthroughM.html - - this link shows gu6 as a 3.42 rear gear ratio but does not specify if its the g92 package. But i am only finding one axle that was 3.42 in 1985 and it was the iroc with the g92 package. I will dig some more.

201,065

The only way to be positive is to climb under it and look at the code on the axle tube.

2 people found this helpful.
201,065

I believe that your axle code will be 8PR. That would be a 3.42:1 locking rear end.

201,065

Ok finding lots of contradicting info on the g92 package of the 1985 IROC's. Some other camaros had the 3.42:1 rear axles that year. But they were in LB8(v6) cars. No matter what you have an all original 1985 IROC Z28 with 44000 miles. I stick with my above price range.

I looked at my Tach and the yellow starts at 5000 and the red starts at 5500. What is the name of the cam I would have?

1 people found this helpful.
201,065

Yours cam is. Lift: intake .404 exhaust .415. Duration (crank) : intake 320 exhaust 320. The other one was. Lift: intake .350 exhaust .385. Duration (crank) : intake 307 exhaust 311.
