Can I repair a 12 inch scratch on my smoked glass roof panel on my 2007

When I purchased the vehicle I guess I never noticed on the drivers side about a 12 inch very thin scratch on the room.  Since lots of time the roof gets some dust etc ..you cant notice it all the time..but when you wash it etc..you can really see if .  Not so much from the inside looking up ..but as you enter or exit the vehicle I see it all the time!

The smoked roof panel is polycarbonate. It might be possible to polish it using one of the headlight polishing kits. Headlights are made of the same stuff.

Before you do it yourself, I'd find a place that sells the roof panels and ask them if it is possible to buff it out. It also depends on how deep the scratch is. If they do the repairs, check the cost of having it rubbed out and remember if it does not work, and you are bothered with it, that adds to the cost of getting a new one. You might also go to a auto repair shop that is good, your insurance man will know, and ask them also. If they can't do it, they may know someone that can.
