Oil problem

Asked by dlfreiberg Mar 29, 2016 at 06:39 PM about the 1995 Ford Ranger XL Standard Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1995 Ford ranger 2.3. I went to add a quart of oil and noticed on the cap some creamy oil. I check the dip stick and it had some creamy oil too. I then check my radiator level and it was ok. No water loss. I changed the oil and oil filter. Three day later I have a little creamy oil again. I check my water level and no loss of water in radiator. How or what is causing the creamy look in my oil?

If you are not seeing any oil in the radiator, and the oil level in the engine is staying the same, all it is, is condensation developing in the engine. Make sure the pcv valve is clean and working, check the vacuum line, and the breather element for the pcv system. You may have to do some more frequent oil & filter changes to clear it up.
