Failure of fuse box?

Asked by HondaCRVOwner Aug 27, 2018 at 07:12 PM about the 2002 Honda CR-V LX AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Dealer has stated that the fuse box needs to be replaced.  Never heard of fuse box failure.  The price is $1200.  The price of fuse box is around $200, so that leave $1000 for labor. Can the fuse box fail and if so, how much is the cost to replace?

$1200 is too much. You can always go to a local mechanic shop and have them purchase a used one from the junk yard for about $50-$100. Labor should not be more than an hour. It has lots of connections front and back but only secured by one screw. I have an under dash fuse box issue on my 2002 CRV as my dash would light up even without the key inserted, and one time engine remain running even though the key is removed.
