Is 500,000 miles possible on a Mercedes Benz 3 Litre V6?

I think Mark wants to know if his van is going to run a half a million miles without major repairs. Mark likes to boast about Subaru's that have 300,000 miles on their CVT. There are almost always statistical anomalies so maybe your van will be one, maybe not.
Ed, .... yeah...FOR is probably right.....and I have met a few people who have gone 500,000 miles on their Sprinters.....it's true, I'm very meticulous about maintenance.... I guess the real question is whether I'll have the energy to drive 500,000 miles more..... As per the Subaru...I've heard various stories from different people.... obviously FOR is not happy..... AND, as for larger vehicles, maybe you are right or maybe I shouldn't worry about it...My Sprinter is a Class B RV....and it's all about the journey not the destination, if you know what I mean.. YES, I was looking for other people's experiences out there....With the number of FEDEX trucks on the road with the fleet.... they must have selected the Sprinters for a reason...it's a great driving vehicle and I was very pleased to discover how safe they are....this photo was taken from a couple who walked away from a bad accident with another truck and no injuries.... pretty impressive...
Ed; here's a picture of the inside of my Sprinter...we love touring in this vehicle and have taken it all across the USA...it's very comfortable and gets 18 MPG. Yes... I suppose you are absolutely correct that with maintenance and repairs you certainly could go 500,000 to 1 million miles..... I didn't even think about the old American cars in Cuba until you brought this up.......Here in Los Angeles with no rust ( we don't live close to the ocean) a vehicle like this could last another 30 or more years... well beyond me . It's a 2011 Mercedes Benz 3500 that was converted in 2012.
Someone on a Facebook Sprinter tech group posted a picture of his odometer over 700K with original engine.
Jon, thank you! I know... many people have been able to go at least 500,000 miles.

My experience with online opinions is that you usually here from the people that have had problems. You forget that there are probably thousands our there that are not having problems. I have a 6.4 liter f150 diesel and bought it used and had concerns and got online to check out what people had to say and they scared the hell out of me with their stories, even though I hadn't had any problems. So I called and talked to several mechanics and they said ! OK what did you do to it? ( put a delete kit on it ? Put a chip in it?) I said I didn't touch it and they said good , don't touch it , keep the fluids changed and filters and stay off the internet and you'll be fine. And so far it's been great advice!!!
